Sydney Actor and Poet Hugh Wade Publishes an Ode to his Beachside Home
Hugh Wade (Actor and Voiceover artist) has published a collection of poems entitled, The Café Village by the Sea, that combines text, art, spoken word and music to produce a unique package.
The collection was officially launched by State member for Coogee, Paul Pearce at Tap Gallery in Darlinghurst on Friday, 10 July 2009.
The collection of 22 poems, on audio CD and in print, presents observations and experiences covering the past twenty years, many of which have arisen during his life and times in Bronte.
With a healthy array of laconic phrases, the title poem characterizes the people who have been ‘bacon’n egging their way through the day’, along with ‘singers and surfers and uncles and aunts’ and of course, ‘yummy mummies with baby bonus kiddies’, who frequent the beachside village.
Other poems in the collection include: Bronte Midnight, Dad, Longbeach Bound, Transplanted Outsider, Spoems, Facebook Lover and Our Island Prince.
