PERFORMANCE

The Café Village by the Sea – a night of poetry performance, music and dancing!

On Friday October 9th 2009 at the Clovelly Bowling Club.

$5 donation at door.

Hugh Wade, Bronte poet and actor, presents a performance of poems from his recently released book and CD, “The Cafe Village by the Sea and other poems”. The evening will also include live musical performances and DJs.

After a successful launch in July at Tap Gallery in Darlinghurst, Hugh and his musical associates are bringing the show back to the Eastern seaboard.

There will be two readings accompanied by a specially composed soundtrack, followed by musical interludes with “Denny and the Jets” and other local musicians. DJ “Long Joe Silver” will round off the evening with some kick-arse dance tunes.

With a healthy array of laconic phrases, the title poem characterizes the people who have been ‘bacon’n egging their way through the day’, along with ‘singers and surfers and uncles and aunts’ and of course, ‘yummy mummies with baby bonus kiddies’, who frequent the beachside village.

Copies of the collection are now available online and will be available to purchase on the night. Beautifully packaged, with artwork by local artist, Nick Hollo, the collection would make a delightful Christmas present for family, friends and overseas visitors.
